Tobey Sampson
Fabricator
Meet Tobey Sampson. Tobey was born and raised at the fairgrounds in OKC and started racing in 1987 and into the Indy Car series in 1995 while chasing the dreams of becoming a fabricator at Steve Stapp's shop. After that, he moved to Southern California, and then at the end of 1996, moved to work for a chassis builder, Clark Drake. Tobey purchased that same company in 1998 and built sprint cars and repaired anything open wheels for the next 20 years. In 2019, he moved back to Oklahoma. Over the years, Tobey has done some sprint car, lightning sprint, and some IMCA mod racing. His son, Tyler, now races as well, and his daughter, Hailey, is finishing her college degree In California.
“I enjoy working at ROK building the little cars for tomorrow's sprint car drivers.”
